It won't officially be spring until March 20, but in Central Texas, that's only a formality. The bluebonnets are coming out andthe fish are biting.Back for the third time, Chris Johnson of Living Waters Fly Fishing in Round Rock will be speaking at AWWC's March 6luncheon meeting.(That meeting, by the way, will be at the Ben Hur Shriners Hall, 7811 Rockwood Drive, where the club used to meet.)Chris is the owner and head guide of Living Waters Fly Fishing. He has guided the Texas Hill Country for a dozen years, andhas fly fished the heart of the state for more than 20 years. A licensed guide in Texas, Oklahoma, and Alaska, Chris is an IFFFCertified Casting Instructor, Umpqua Signature Fly Designer, Tenkara USA Guide, TPWD Angler Educator, member of WhitingFarms Pro Team, Scientific Anglers Pro Staff, and part of Scott Fly Rods Pro Team.Dedicated to sharing his passion for the sport andinvesting in the next generation of fly anglers, he often is afeatured presenter/fly tier at fly fishing, outdoor, andcommunity events throughout the state. In 2014 Chris wasnamed Man of the Year by the IFFF Texas Council and in thesame year, Living Waters received the IFFF's prestigious LeeWulff Award. In addition to fly fishing, Chris is into film andphotography. He co-produced the short film "Unspoken," inan effort to raise awareness for Rio Grande Cutthroat troutconservation. Chris and his wife Emily enjoy running theirshop, fly fishing the world, and raising their daughter in the sport.
